I am supposed to be working on an assignment that is due tomorrow night, but I have wasted the entire day. Tomorrow I will struggle to get it done and probably finish the minute before the dropbox closes. I don't know why I do this.

Because if you get a low mark you can blame lack of time than if you did it early and as good as you could and then struggle with being judged poorly on your best efforts.
Its fear and caused by perfectionism and attaching your self worth, future, and others love or admiration according to your success or failure at assignments.

You need to also step back and put it into proportion. A bad mark isn't the end of the world.
You are there to learn thats why you are being assessed and thats why you are going through the course if you are an expert already whats the point of doing it.

Procrastination is basically a dysfunctional protection/defense mechanism against fear of falling short somehow and perfrctionism, all or nothing thinking is the enemy.

Prioritise what you can do, try and cover all the points they want, dont fuss with editing or making it right or going over word limits.

If possible and you think you will benefit then ask for an extension. I wouldnt lie i would say that you were struggling with mental health.
