What to do if ear is bleeding?

Very painful and now starting to bleed. Given antibiotics and painkillers at the walk in clinic. Is the blood due to infection do you think. Should I just clean the area with warm water or do we need to go back to a and e?

Sounds like your drum has burst. Probably should be checked out.

Its my friend the codeine is helping and shes on antibiotics Ive looked and its now bleeding. Not pouring looks like fresh blood and fluid. She has been in agony today poor thing.

Sounds like a middle ear infection. I had a very bad one and my ear bled for 2 days. My ear drum did not burst but sometimes they do. If it bursts the pressure and pain will lessen so she will notice. It took 4 days for antibiotics to kick in. Codeine and ibuprofen gave some relief until then.

Make sure she doesn’t get water inside it though.

Has there been an injury to the head? If so I'd go to a & e.
