Guy interested but not texting

I went on a first date just over a week ago. He asked me for a second date & messaged me the next day to say what a lovely night he had. He told his friend he really liked me & wanted to go on another date. He's hardly messaged me since & made no effort to set up the second date. I messaged him yesterday to say i wasnt getting a good vibe & that if he wasnt interested then to let me know. He said we would meet after he came back from overseas. He goes away for 3 weeks as of tomorrow. Should i move on from him or am i being impatient?

I’d write him off. If he was that keen, he’d make an effort. And after only one date, it’s not like you’re exclusive or anything. If he comes back in three weeks and wants to make an effort then you can decide whether or not he’s worth it. But definitely don’t put your own life on hold.

I would think that going on a 3 week trip requires a lot of preparation. He's busy getting everything ready for his trip and you're putting pressure on him. You've only gone on 1 date. He says he'll see you when he's back, so he's not putting you off. If after 3 weeks you don't hear from him, then you'll have the confirmation that he's not interested. In the meantime, I agree with Sn0tnose, don't put your life on hold.
