I'm quite a proficient illustrator, but go about it in a rather aimless way - these days it more of a social thing, as I go to various clubs and classes, etc. I've been mulling over the idea of doing some sort of art qualification in my spare time, both to give myself a project and reason to work in a more diligent and structured way, and also to get some sort of CV-worthy certificate at the end (I do sort of use art in my job and so it would be nice to show it's something I'm still serious about, in a way that my dusty old A-level doesn't).
I have googled all sorts of diplomas, certificates, degrees, etc and feel a bit lost. I'd be really greatful for any pointers towards an art qualification that can be done online/by distance learning, is part-time, costs less that £1000 a year, and actually has some sort of meaning as a UK qualification?
I'd also be really interested to hear from any mature students on art courses, and what your experience has been.
