Hi any help would be really useful
I have recently given birth, to my beautiful baby boy. He is 4 days old now, I want to breast feed but it’s a struggle basically. He latches on so well and has three or four really good feeds lasting around 15-20 mins. But in the day he won’t latch at all? He will take a little bit of formula in a bottle but not breast? It’s been like this since he was born. He is awake most of night and asleep alll day too. So I don’t know if he’s just too tired but it’s concerning that he isn’t feeding from me in day but takes really well on night. Any advice? Anyone else had similar problems. I really don’t want to give up breast feeding

At four days old they drink tiny amounts but how many wet and then also dirty nappies does he have?
When he feeds at night are you lying down feeding him?

Does he look at all jaundiced?

The latching should not vary unless it’s worse on one side. Has he been thoroughly checked for a pair wrist tongue tie as well as anterior? They are also often worse feeding on one side

Has your Midwife due to come out and visit or has she been today?

Posterior tongue tie not pair wrist sorry!

And sorry for loads of questions but you have to work backwards sometimes and rule things out

Hi she said he has slight Jaudience. She was here yesterday she just said to keep him near Natural light which I have bht didn’t seem concerned about feeding. She just said give him a small bottle of powder milk in between if he does more than four hours. But he just won’t feed in the day or if he does it lasts for five mins, same with bottle he won’t drink much of it bht the night he’s the opposite? I’m so stressed and scared
