I know it's early but there are lots of pissed young men already in my local and Union Jack hats/flags/banners aplenty plus a buffet (still covered up for later). Am in the North. Anyone else?

lyme

Ive been reading it as fly me to the moon...so no 😀

Got it now though

FoamingAtTheUterus · 31/01/2020 22:44

You know those sacks of cheap sausage rolls ?? I could just eat a bowl, fresh from the oven.

Certainly not having a party here but I'm shooting dp evils who's had two pints and is halfway pissed because he cannot handle alcohol at all and he's already shuffling about / grunting / smacking his lips together. Swear to fecking God if he keeps me awake tonight shuffling round I will gladly do time. Angry

MrsAmaretto · 31/01/2020 22:44

Oooh peach and chicken! My mum used to roast a chicken with peaches from a can, utterly delicious @wildflowersandweeds Is that what you mean?

No Brexit parties or wakes here, it's raining and blowing a hoolie - who could be arsed?

I remember when we joined the 'common market' and remember that my parents weren't keen. I hate NYE and tonight is a bit like NYE around here but because it's actually not NYE I'm here lol!

I feel quite emotional now actually.

FaithInfinity · 31/01/2020 23:01

Someone near me is letting off fireworks. Knobhead. 🤦🏻

MamaRaisingBoys · 31/01/2020 23:02

Lots of fireworks going off here

FlamingoAndJohn · 31/01/2020 23:02

Fireworks here too. Which I believe you aren’t allowed to do outside bonfire night and New Years.

SeaViewBliss · 31/01/2020 23:03

Loads here on the dot of 11. Twats.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 31/01/2020 23:04

There’s no law against fireworks 😂

JustonTime · 31/01/2020 23:05

Fireworks here to (London)

daisypond · 31/01/2020 23:06

You can set off fireworks on whatever day you like but there is a time cut-off for noise. On days like Bonfire Night, Diwali, Chinese New Year etc you can set them off later.

JustonTime · 31/01/2020 23:07

Watching it on Sky News and I started to cry when all the different languages of the EU were saying goodbye projected in lights. Don't let me near the Michelangelo........

CaptainMyCaptain · 31/01/2020 23:07

No fireworks so far. Good.

WorraLiberty · 31/01/2020 23:07

daisy's right.

The cut off (apart from those days) is 11pm

Flymetothetoon · 31/01/2020 23:09

Celebrations being played here and for what it's worth I wanted to remain part of EU but as per usual I got shouted down for my lighthearted observation 😀

JustonTime · 31/01/2020 23:10

There's an awful twat on Sky news now

JustonTime · 31/01/2020 23:12

I genuinely didn't think I would feel so sad! I think I had become immune to all the Brexit talk. But now I'm sad, as I feel alienated from my home country (Ireland).

SinisterBumFacedCat · 31/01/2020 23:18

Some fucker has let off fireworks here. Bastards

Ginfordinner · 31/01/2020 23:23

I must admit that it never occurred to me that so many people would be celebrating Brexit. I never thought that pub parties and fireworks would happen.

Luckily no fireworks here.

My parents voted to join the Common Market as it was known back then, and I feel that they, and everyone else who voted to join have been let down.

CurlsandCurves · 31/01/2020 23:29

I’ve just been to a pub with a Brexit party going on. Union flags everywhere. The drag act was absolutely awesome and I’ve had a good night.

I voted remain. We didn’t win. Let’s see what happens.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 31/01/2020 23:37

Voting for the Common Market was a very different animal to the EU.

TheNavigator · 31/01/2020 23:43

Thankfully I'm in Scotland, but seeing the pictures of the Brexit buffet food should be enough to give anyone doubts about the wisdom of their shit choice.

At a work event today we had the EU flag on the table all day - you can't kill a dream with dodgy carbs.

springrollover · 31/01/2020 23:52

I'd have gone just for the buffet, in the pic it looked quite tasty Smile
Definitely no fireworks or even a mention of Brexit today where I live, in the British Isles but we've never been part of EU. It feels so remote to us here at the moment and I'm not quite sure how I'd feel living in UK
No doubt will hit our living costs soon enough tho
