Coca cola and coffee

Just found out that Coca Cola owns Costa. It bought it in 2018. They are taking over the world more and more sneakily. First they bought Dr Pepper, now they have Costa. What next, PGTips?

They do own some tea companies but I don’t think it’s any uk ones.

Shev1996 · 31/01/2020 05:37

Wow, I don’t really care, how does this effect you so profoundly?

ivykaty44 · 31/01/2020 05:37

BlouseAndSkirt It was a secret take over, it was all reported at the time.

You know they own part of Innocent too right?

Newmetoday · 31/01/2020 05:40

Who cares? Companies buy other companies all the time.

Orangecatfish · 31/01/2020 05:41

Oh My Lord. No, it doesn’t make a huge difference to my world, everything keeps running etc. This is the Chat section, no?

Shew it doesn't need to affect the OP profoundly for them to care. Coca Cola carry out devastating water grab practices in India. The company that want to make us think they are all friendly and jolly are actually nasty and manipulative. Their power is such that they are able to buy out water assets in rural areas leading to loss of crops, livelihood, health and the basic means to live for villagers there.

A quick Google will demonstrate the reasons why many of us boycott their business. It's about caring for other people as well as yourself.

Shev1996 · 31/01/2020 05:44

Sure it’s the chat section @Orangecatfish how was your day? Other than being outraged

Shev1996 · 31/01/2020 05:47

Did you deliberately call me “Shew” @DarrellMakepeace? I’m shocked and appalled and also outraged!! Disgusting!

Orangecatfish · 31/01/2020 08:53

Apart from not being outraged, just interested, had fun pottering around the canals of Brum.

OP posts:
DarrellMakepeace · 31/01/2020 13:03

Typo Shev. Why the outrage?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 31/01/2020 13:50

It was a secret take over, it was all reported at the time.

Doesn't sound like a great secret, tbh.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 31/01/2020 13:51

Shocked, appalled, outraged and disgusted at a 'w' instead of a 'v'? Confused

WTF? Is there some heinous backstory or hidden meaning here?

FruityWidow · 31/01/2020 15:35

PG Tips is (currently) owned by Unilever which is basically Coca Cola's biggest rival.

ivykaty44 · 31/01/2020 15:37

Doesn't sound like a great secret, tbh.

Indeed 😂
