I’d like to know what you do with your crusts at the end of a loaf? Both me and dp don’t like them but I hate to keep throwing them away, is there anything I can make with them?

Eat them as normal. Part of a sandwich or might be toast

If it's a nice crusty loaf from the bakers I cut both ends off while it's fresh and eat slathered with butter.
If it's the bog standard M&S loaf we get otherwise I use it for breadcrumbs. I keep them in the freezer.

cut them into cubes are fry them as crutons for salads

Tear them up and feed the birds/ducks/swans

Another saying they’re the best bit! Especially toasted!

Toast and eat as normal toast
Toast as part of something like beans on toast
Use to make french toast
Use to make toasted sandwiches
Use to soak up gravy
Make croutons...

One of the good things about dd having moved out is no arguing who gets them! 😂

We spread them with butter mixed with garlic or herbs, cut into fingers and bake in the oven for 5 mins to have with soup or stew

OneHanded · 30/01/2020 21:28

Oh god they make the best avo toast
