Office has continual buzzing

I have found since we have moved offices to somewhere that is all connected with wireless throughout that there is a constant humming / buzzing that everyone can hear.

Obviously worse and more noticeable when people are concentrating and therefore quiet.

Would this be an issue to you?

It seems to drive a few of us insane but not everyone and I’m wondering if it’s something contributing to me feeling more drained at the end of the day since working here

Yes this would drive me mad!

This would drive me mad

There’s a general phenomenon called The Hum which I can hear

Also, I can hear those pigeon deterrents that humans are t meant to be able to hear, but luckily so can half my building so we got it switched off!

I'm rather noise sensitive and this would drive me insane! Does your company acknowledge there is a problem?

Our office has a constant hum of computer fans (software development) Get background music. It is good for flow.

Someone will mention it at least once a day

It’s loud

We try and have the radio on when we can but it’s open plan and we have people who need to concentrate and need peace and quiet to do so

Boss says he doesn’t notice it so not a problem!

It's not the wireless, by the way.

It'll be either the lights or the heat/cooling. Most likely lights. Raise it with H&S if you have one, or building maintenance.

Can you wear headphones and listen to music while working ? Even if you just use one ear to listen to music ( so you can hear people talking to you ) it may help
