How do you clean your ears out?

Just wondering what other people do. I know the advise is not to put anything at all in there. However, it seems that I suffer with chronic ear wax problems and I end up having points I can't hear that well!

I'm a registered nurse and in a past life I used to do ear syringing at the gps surgery so I do this

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

I use otex ear drops to hear for fizzing. I then use my water flosser on the lowest setting possible m, warm water, ear towards the sink and blast the shit out.. exactly like ear syringing. In fact I'm 90% sure the device is the same.

I use wax for a few days then hose them out with the bath mixer tap. Don't do this. I know I should not do this. It is however the most satisfying experience, both seeing the wax leave and being able to hear so clearly after. Don't do this.

I get very bad dry skin in my ears and I use cotton buds but would love to find something that keeps them clean

ItsLegalTender · 30/01/2020 16:03

@nibdedibble it was amazing, it was the size of my thumbnail when it flew out of my ear. ❤️

Oh STOP IT 😂

BertieBotts · 30/01/2020 18:19

OK. I always assumed syringing was done with a syringe Confused As in they put like one of those plastic syringes you feed poorly rabbits with and suck the wax out. It's actually blasted with a waterpik thing?

MamaFlintstone · 30/01/2020 18:21

I don’t do anything to clean them now, when I went through a period of having wax build up I squirted warm water into them with a syringe and that flushed the big bits out. I have no idea if that’s a good idea though.

ItsLegalTender · 30/01/2020 18:22

@BertieBotts this is what my surgery and most surgeries use to 'syringe' ears or to use it's proper name 'aural toilet' 😂Grin
