Punched myself with my seatbelt

So you know those times when you try to put your seatbelt on too quickly, and it locks just as your hand is passing your face, and so you succeed only in punching yourself in the face with your own seatbelt...?

I have twice knocked myself out by picking up a dropped item that was under wall shelving units and straightening up thus banging my head on the shelf. I now no longer have theses in my home, only proper book cases for me.

I have dropped my phone on my face countless times and once gave myself a black eye doing it!

Not car-related, but I once hit myself in the face with my own badminton racquet, mid-game.

I have had a buggered shoulder for the last 15 years. I tell people it was injured doing an emergency stop when I was learning to drive. Which is technically true. What I don't tell them is that I injured it leaning round to pick my bag off the floor as it fell off the backseat when I did said emergency stop.

Punched myself pulling down a stirrup
Pulled off the entire car door handle
Snapped the key in the ignition
Dropped my phone on my own face

Knocked myself unconscious on the door frame of our new car, partner pulled over so I could retrieve an open bottle of water I had dropped on the floor and had awkwardly gone under my seat, opened my door and because I had seatbelt on, I hoiked myself a little harder than I should to twist and retrieve water before too much damage was done. Wasnt used to new style of car and hit top of head so hard I saw bursts of light. Came round to dramatically swearing partner holding me upright so I didnt neck myself on seatbelt and trying to use his phone to call for help. Had a headache for days 🤣

Dropped books on my face whilst reading/nodding off in bed
Frequently shut the boot of my previous car on to my head - it was light and I pulled it down too fast
Punched myself in the face pulling up duvet
Been knocked out by bumping heads with the dog - German Shepherds have very hard heads.. I was out cold.. she didn’t even feel the collision!!
Often shut my hair in the car door or window
Got hit in the face by my own boot as I pulled it off with force
Cut my lip by lifting a full glass of drink to my mouth and mis-judging the distance
Cut my mouth with a mis-placed tooth brush

Glad it’s not just me who does these daft things😁

Yes to punching in face with seatbelt, yes by pulling up heavy duvet and by yanking zip up.
Also hit head hard on boot several times leaning in too quickly with new car whose boot opened slowly.
Once had fingers trapped in car window by dp - strangely it really hurt. Proper trapped.
Hate hate hate rummaging under seats for dropped things when seated - always feels as though my fingers will be trapped in mechanism.
Often trap ankle in car door in gale force winds where it’s really hard just to open the door or on a hill etc.
Have put my back out twisting in passenger seat to get something from the back seats which ALWAYS seems to be just out of reach.
Bloody hell cars are dangerous !!

🤣🤣 I've done this too, I went from nice and sleepy to WTF is 2 seconds.

Opened a hire car door whilst leaning forward and it hit my face. Hard.
I also bent down to pick up my kitten and head butted a table corner. Big shiner.

Washing floor and hooked my head on sharp under counter hook. Had to pull myself off it. Ended up in ambulance and stitches at hospital. Quite a bit of blood on newly washed floor when I got home ! Sorry all. Does make me laugh.

I poked myself in the eye putting my glasses on in the dark

And have actually stepped on take which slammed into my mouth - cut lip. More stitches. Rather nice little ‘Lindsay wagner’ scar.

As teenagers a friend and I were standing next to each other trying on charity shop coats and he stuck his fist through the arm and punched me in the side of the head. It really hurt (left a bruise) but we were doubled over laughing for about five minutes.
I was staying in a b&b in Rye and put my back out pulling up the covers. Have also done it turning around to flush the loo.
Have sliced my chin with my thumbnail doing up my coat zip more times than I can remember.
Sorry, none of this took place in a car

Sliced my finger trying to cut a jacket potato of all things

I know this is a old thread but literally had to add to my car injury experience I slammed the car door the other week on my leg while closing the door now have a reminder mark on my leg 🤣🤦
