Has anyone else got this virus (not coronavirus!)

I'm on Day 10 of whatever I've got and it's showing no signs of abating.

It started the weekend before last as a fairly normal cold, albeit less snotty and watery eyes, and more sneezing than normal. Felt ok - went to work fine. Then last Thursday, overnight, it transformed into endless snot, eyes streaming and sneezing ramped up a notch. And it's still the exact same almost a week later and is showing no signs of going away.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm currently sneezing over 100 times a day at the moment. I have a bin full of snotty tissues. My eyes are still streaming. Slight cough but nothing much. No temperature.

I've stayed off work today in the hope that staying in bed will help, but honestly, nothing is changing and I feel crap. I've never had a cold or virus like this before. Will it ever end?

Erm yes, I think I have. Started as a very sore throat that went almost immediately. Now it's just a slight cough, quite a bit of sneezing, loads of snot and I'm knackered and achey. It's been about 10 days so far.

Only good thing about it is, that I'm snoring owing to the bunged-upness. Great opportunity to shoe DH just how shit that can be for the non-snorer

Could you be allergic to something? New washing powder/air freshener etc? Have you tried taking an antihistamine to see whether that helps? Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids to replace the snotty fluids

27th dec - 13th January I had it and was off work for the whole time. Grim

I did wonder about an allergy at first reallybadidea because of the sneezing. But without being too graphic, the snot has become decidedly buggy

If I didn't have the other symptoms I'd think it was an allergy, just on account of the amount of sneezing. But I feel ill too, though no fever.

I keep thinking it'll start getting better but so far, each day is as bad, or worse, than the one before.

I felt wiped out, like everything was too much effort. Sneezing, coughing, sore throat, just generally meh but more unwell, I couldn't go to work. Oh and I lost my voice
Went to the doctor and said I felt like death and she cheerily said "oh the virus of doom, dropping people like flies"
