Agonising knee pain, awaiting mri

For the last 2 weeks I've been in agonising pain with my knee. It's always been fragile but 2 months ago I began running and now I'm struggling to walk on one leg.

I saw a physio on Saturday who said they'd refer for an mri but the waiting could be weeks or months.

If I went to out of hours at the hospital would they do it while I'm there? the pain doesn't go no matter the pain relief.

Help! Thank you!

Also to say, a private mri on a knee would be under £300, but at least you'd get it done straight away.

Thanks for all advice got appointment with GP for stronger pain relief.

Yes very much regretting the 12 hour shift has to crawl up the stairs in agony Sad unfortunately I work bank at the hospital so I'm not entitled to sick pay and I'm the breadwinner in this house.

That's a tough situation to be in. I know you think you can't have time off because of it, but imo your knee is only going to get worse if you keep going.
What advice would you give a friend or a patient in the same situation?
Your health really is the most important thing.
