Am I chasing a pipedream?

Wasn't sure what the best board was for this. Just had my second miscarriage three weeks ago at seven weeks, had a d&c two weeks ago. Had my first miscarriage in mid November at just over five weeks (miscarriages back to back). Tried for a year to that point. Have a 2.5 year old and just turned 40 a couple of weeks ago as well. Am I chasing a pipedream to think I can get pregnant now? Should I save the heartache and give up?

So sorry to hear of your miscarriages. Only you can decide if you have the strength to try further. You are obviously still fertile but miscarriage is a lot to go through. Sending you hugs.

Thank you @luvmyboyz. I just don't know if I am wasting my time

And nobody seems to be able to relate. I had two miscarriages within 6 months (one of the pregnancies was twins which went separately, so maybe that’s three, I don’t know) when I tried for a second baby. I gave it a year before trying again but I was 32 years old so felt that I could wait. Only you and your partner can decide. I really feel for you after going through so much

Hey, it's not a pipedream, but sometimes it can be very difficult to have a second child. I'm so sorry for your losses, nothing makes it feel better, I know, but hopefully it will become less raw.
Please be kind to yourself and give both yourself and your DH time to grieve. But no, 40 certainly isn't "past it"!
Good luck Thanks

Thank you @bsc it is still very recent. I just don't feel I have the luxury of time anymore
