Does anyone else find their handwriting/accent fluctuates?

I've been meaning to start this thread for ages...

I don't know if my brain is wired strangely but I've always found I pick up certain pronunciation quirks from other people and can't shake them off. They don't even need to be people I've spent years around necessarily, just people who've made a big impression on me. I'm a born and bred Brit, never lived anywhere more exciting than East Anglia, but my accent has little quirks of Saffa, "international school" vowel sounds, weird bits of Aussie etc. So much so people often ask me where I'm from when they meet me. I did slightly wonder if it had something to do with being hearing impaired...as in I've picked up bits and piece I find useful for clarity (e.g over pronouncing r sounds) but I e no idea and can't find much on Google about it. I did a Linguistics degree and vaguely remember mirroring of accents is something to do with trying to build social relationships and people aren't usually aware they're doing it.

My handwriting isn't fixed either, it changes literally from one day to another, has done ever since I was a kid. So weird!

Anyone else get this? I don't see that many people's handwriting so don't really know!

Not my accent, but my handwriting does vary. I have three or four very distinct writing styles and it sort of changes depending on what mood I’m in. All are very tidy and neat so it’s not that my handwriting is just a mess...size, slant, loops, etc all vary.

I’ve spoken three languages fluently in my life at various times as well.

My handwriting changes depending on what pen I use. It's not conscious or deliberate but the change between my writing with a cheapy biro to that with a smooth-flowing rollerball is marked.

My handwriting is consistently awful. But my accent changes according to whomever has the dominant accent in the group I’m talking with. Sometimes people think I’m being pretentious but I really can’t help it.

Oh this used to happen to me a lot when I was younger. I tended to pick up accents from people I was with for any length of time. It doesn't happen much now I'm in my 30's. I never really knew why I did it.
I worked with a German girl every day for 2 years when I was 17 and I developed a slight German accent. I cringe when I think of it.
My best friend had a very slight lisp and when we spent time together I would speak with one too! I didn't notice until someone pointed it out.
I'm glad it's not just me!

This is me too, both accents and handwriting. Yay, I'm not weird! Or if I am, I am not alone

Yes my accent and my handwriting. Much more so when I was young and was desperate to fit in which any group of people as my home life was so shitty and I never felt interesting or important.

My handwriting has settled now but is awfully messy. My accent changes depending on who I’m speaking to still. My ‘real’ accent is a London one and if I speak to family members or people from the same background I could be mistaken for Danny Dyer. However, If I’m speaking to the ‘posh’ side of the family or some colleagues, I could be Princess Anne.

Not really, I have a Nottinghamshire accent, I haven’t lived in or been there since I turned 17, I’m 32! I speak Urdu as a first language, I use my Urdu ‘accent’ when talking to my cousin as we swap between English and Urdu.

I'm so glad it's not just me! My accent is all over the place, and it's even worse when I'm speaking to someone with an accent. I can literally change from starting speaking a sentence to finishing it! My handwriting is the same. All over the place, sometimes even I don't recognise it. Or can read it 😂 Again, this can be starting a sentence to finishing it. I don't get it at all
