So, any time I google something for info I end up finding a thread on Mumsnet. This time I don't know exactly what to google, so thought I'd come straight here!

Had high winds last night and this thing fell off my roof (see pictures). I presume it caps off the chimney but what exactly is it called? (Searching chimney cap on google seems to get me different stuff)

Both fireplaces are blocked off so I presume I just need a regular roofer to replace it, rather than some gas-safe type person. And will they supply the new one, or do I need to buy one first?

I know the answer to most of this is probably going to be "Just phone a roofer", I just find these conversations much easier if I'm a bit fore-armed first.

Cheers in advance!

It's a rain cowl I think.

Ah, good shout. Googling that comes up with much better results. Thanks!
