Dd is just 9 but has been developing for a good few months now and has just noticed that she’s got little boobs and discharge in her knickers. I’ve had a chat with her about growing up and periods and the like but it feels like 100 years since I hit puberty so we’d like a book for her and DS to read through with a bit more info on what to expect as their bodies change and hormones hit. I want a gender neutral book so both children (DS is 11) can have a read and learn what to expect but I don’t want a book with sexist stereotypes and I definitely do not want any talk of ‘wrong’ bodies and gender identities. Ds has had sex education in school in year 5 but DD still has a year to wait for that and I’m not sure we have that long!
