What’s the quietest time to visit Disneyland paris ?

As long as you avoid school holidays you will be ok. Just note that the french school holidays are staggered over 4 weeks so our February half term is 24th feb for 2 weeks but other areas of France have the 2 weeks before. Goes for other half terms too.

In May we don’t have a week off like the uk but have 5 bank holidays of which they will bunch some together and have a Wednesday-Monday holiday.

VanillaSugarr · 28/01/2020 10:50

We went 15-19 December. It poured with rain and all the French trains were on strike so no one could get there unless they drove or took the direct Eurostar train from St Pancras. The parks were deserted and the longest queue for space mountain etc was about 45 minutes.

Floralnomad · 28/01/2020 11:04

Halloween is always horrendous , December weekdays have always been fairly quiet , the weekends in December are crazy ( assuming there are no strikes !)

Don’t be fooled. We went at a quite time, but they just closed half the kiosks for coffee and food etc. So still queued forty five minutes for a coffee or crossiant etc.
Honestly I would never go again. It really is the poor relation with worse weather and terrible grumpy staff and no customer service.
I know Florida is 3 times the cost. But honestly is 100 times better. Just so comparison.
Longleat safari park or Alton Towers if you want rides, are as good as Disney Paris.

Ploppymoodypants · 28/01/2020 11:15

Oh and a lot of rides and restaurants were closed for maintenance (which I appreciate has to be done) and if you go during the quiet time they close sections of the park very early in the afternoon/evening, where as in Florida the parks are open until 10pm.
The water stuff felt very dank as well. Honestly I would go in the early autumn and suck up the queues or save for Florida.
Paris in the cold wet freezing weather in massive queues and grumpy staff does not make for the happiest place in the world.
The staff in Florida are amazing and entertain you in the queues and are so accommodating of small children.

Does anyone know what March is like ?

OP posts:
TheNavigator · 28/01/2020 15:03

We went October mid week and it was great - busy but not rammed. The 'children' were mid/late teens and we all had an absolute ball. We saw lots of tired and tearful littlies and the children agreed with us that older is better to get the maximum out of it.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 28/01/2020 15:33

The navigator - how old would you say roughly?

We went with a five and seven year old... Five year old loved it, but got tired. Seven year old got more out of it.

Around- Thankyou

Personally I think late primary/secondary school age, but many take smaller children. I guess it depends on the experience you want. With teens we could have a snarky giggle at the ridiculousness of much of it and the middle aged people in Micky ears, while staying out all day and all night and just enjoying it ironically and unironically. With younger children it would no doubt be more 'magical', but harder work.

Floralnomad · 28/01/2020 16:43

We’ve been going since it opened , it’s enjoyable at all ages for different reasons . I’ve also done Florida a few times and personally I prefer Paris ,but then I’m not one for hot weather and try to avoid flying . I’ve never found the workforce miserable or unhelpful .

Greenbutterlfy566 · 28/01/2020 19:41

Thanks again

I wouldn’t bother. We went when kids 6 and 8 it was all really lame. Emperors new clothes

edgewater · 28/01/2020 20:21

I prefer DLP to the Magic Kingdom in a Florida.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 28/01/2020 20:57

Ms- what didn’t you like about it?

OP posts:
MsTSwift · 28/01/2020 21:07

Tired naff very mediocre rides laughable special effects. Very surprised friends had talked about it like it was a near mystical experience. Kids underwhelmed. Paultons Park way better. The California one was great we had low expectations after Paris. I really wouldn’t bother.

MonsterChopz · 28/01/2020 21:11

We're here just now. Longest queue we've waited in has been 25 mins. We've got a 3yr old and an 8 yr old. I'd say the 8 yr old us getting much more out of it but it's still fun for the 3 year old.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 28/01/2020 21:14

I forgot to say the reason I’m asking for quietest is as my child has suspected adhd and autism.

OP posts:
buffyp · 28/01/2020 21:14

Op ignore the people who hated it. I’ve just come back for the third time and it is most certainly not lame or tired. I have also had the pleasure of going to Disney World which was fantastic but has not detracted from dlp. In fact a lot of the rides at dlp are much better than their Florida counterparts particularly tower of terror and pirates of the Carribean. It is not helpful to suggest to people going to Paris that they should just go to Florida. For many people this simply isn’t an option for many reasons and believe it or not some people don’t actually like Disney World as they find it too big and overwhelming.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 28/01/2020 21:36

Monster - hope your enjoying

Buffy- glad you enjoyed

Ploppymoodypants · 28/01/2020 22:23

Agree that the pirates of the Caribbean ride in Paris is absolutely brilliant. The best thing there by far.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 29/01/2020 09:26

I’ve read that pirates of the carrabean wasn’t very good.

MsTSwift · 29/01/2020 09:30

Why is a negative experience to be discounted?! It’s rubbish honestly don’t bother. My kids forgotten all about it
