Top travel tips

I have an truly emotionally gruelling trip to North America to undertake next month and have physical health issues to contend with as well. I am keen to make everything go as smoothly and easily as possible and have some money to throw at the problem. So far:

  1. I'm flying business class so I will be well rested when I get there (and home). Not an option that is open to everyone but well worth it to me.

  2. Accommodation as nice as poss - that is fine.

  3. I'm travelling with others and I've made sure we have a shared online folder for all relevant documents. I will also print out copies for everyone before we go.

  4. Airport taxi there and home

  5. I'm making up a playlist of old favourites. Nothing too nostalgic though - it's a fine line. I have good headphones.

  6. Will get a nice set of pyjamas and take my dressing gown for general comfort purposes.

  7. Will load up my kindle with some escapist fiction... Ruth Rendell feels about right.

I'm looking for your top tips for what to take and how to look after myself and my sanity both while travelling and while abroad.
