I have a 6&7 year old and both DH and I are tired all the time and I'm getting so fed up of it. I'm trying to eat well and taken up some exercise in the hope of boosting energy levels.

Never. My bags are awful now and I'm not even 30!

I'm 41 with two in reception and year one and I think excercise has really helped me in the past month. Also vitamins and knowing when to stop and leave the house just as it is and enjoy a film. Don't burn yourself out tomorrow if you can. For instance tonight I'm slow cooking beef and prepared the veg so that's a job done I don't have to do Sunday. Also have plenty of uniform and clothes so that frees up sunday

Mine are teens and I’m still knackered. DD1 has never settled or slept well, but just as they stop calling you when they have a nightmare and start having a lie in, the worst of middle age seems to hit plus work gets more stressful.

The tiredness just changes and has different causes. The physical tiredness of the younger years is replaced by an mental and emotional tiredness as they hit teens and beyond

Yes, good point. Although atm it's both physical and emotional as mine is 6 and my only so i have to be mum and no.1 playmate plus i'm emotionally drained from being 47 and into peri. It's physically knackering on my knees in particular!
DS woke every hour all night from birth but now blessedly sleeps through. Eeveryone says he goes to sleep too late at 9 but he's awake at a reasonable time, 6.30-7. I've never been able to lie in as i'm a lark not an owl, so i love early mornings

Less tired now than I was a year ago (DSs are 7 and 3). DS1 now reliably sleeps through. DS2 still extremely hit and miss but usually a couple of times a week which is a huge improvement.

These days if I’m tired it’s my own fault for reading too late.

Both DH and I work FT but our amazing childminder means that this doesn’t affect how tired I am!

Now to sort the exercise question.

When ds started getting up on his own and doing his own thing, probably around 9-10 I felt a lot less tired. But now he's a teen am tired again, stressing out about different things.

I've got three - 10, 15 and 17. I guess when they fuck off to University I might get a few days off.
