What's your favourite Indian food?

I always order a tandoori mixed grill with a madras sauce on the side and a garlic, chilli and coriander naan 😋 Oh, and onion bhajis to start. I've just polished off what I doggy-bagged from a restaurant last night and omg, it tasted even better today Blush the cat is judging me though

Cauliflower pakora.

isabellerossignol · 25/01/2020 16:04

I've honestly never tasted anything in an Indian restaurant or takeaway that I didn't like. I don't think I could choose a favourite.

Chicken tikka biriyani with nan bread and that yummy mint dip. The slabbers are running off me now!!

Mummyneedsacoffee · 25/01/2020 16:05

Rogan josh Grin

Nonstopbuttmachine · 25/01/2020 16:06

Oh yes, the mint dip! Raita?

Chicken bhuna, tikka or dopiaza depending on mood.

Aloo gobi
Tarka dahl
(Both musts)

Any of the veg, really.

All the breads! Grin. All SO good, but if I’m indulging, a stuffed paratha.

Taddda · 25/01/2020 16:09

Mushroom saag or a saag paneer, dinner decided Smile, thanks Op!

Potatopia · 25/01/2020 16:09

Dosa!

Taddda · 25/01/2020 16:10

Ooo and extra mint dip with salad/ veg/ crunchy anything...

FleetwoodMacMummy · 25/01/2020 16:13

I'm boring, I always get a chicken tikka Madras with pilau rice and a plain naan bread. Sometimes if I'm really pushing the boat out I will also get saag aloo/ Tadka Dahl and vegetable samosas/chicken pakora.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 25/01/2020 16:16

I can cook a mean curry but have never mastered perfect tandoori chicken; this stuff last night just melted in my mouth. Perfectly cooked, tender and slightly charred (with the lovely crispy onions 😋)

Saag paneer, peshwari naan. And I love a good onion bhaji. I quite enjoy uttapam and dosa too, but those are harder to find.

iklboo · 25/01/2020 16:19

Onion bhaji
Chicken tikka rogan josh
Plain naan

TheDarkestChild · 25/01/2020 16:20

@Potatopia

Dosa is heaven! The restaurants near me are all Bangladeshi / Pakistani so no dosa in sight, but I occasionally travel to another area to a South Indian restaurant and indulge in dosa. I really want some now!

AgeLikeWine · 25/01/2020 16:22

I love Gujarati vegetarian food, despite not being a veggie. Masala dosa is one of my favourites as is chilli paneer.

LiveRightNow · 25/01/2020 16:24

@notstopbuttmachine - trick to tandoori is long marinade and high heat. (Like traditional tandoors) . You've really made me fancy a curry now though... which is evil as my local curry house isn't open for another 2hrs...

NamiSwan · 25/01/2020 16:24

I'm a big fan of veg dhansak or pathia, tarka dahl, garlic naan and pilau rice. and onion bhaji!

Mandarinfish · 25/01/2020 16:25

Prawn puree
Mild chicken dish (eg korma, biryani) and rice
Plain naan

LiveRightNow · 25/01/2020 16:25

Ooh and I love a dhansak or dosa or really good lamb chops, or Goan fish curry mmmmmmmmmmmmm

ShivD · 25/01/2020 16:27

Paneer Masala, or any paneer curry.

ShivD · 25/01/2020 16:28

Or maybe a masala dosa.

TeddyIsaHe · 25/01/2020 16:29

Lamb shatkora. I’ve found the restaurant that does the best one and they start writing my order as soon as a I go in now

It’s delicious.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 25/01/2020 16:33

@LiveRightNow I've tried the long marinade but never seen to get the cooking right! (grilled in the oven and ends up a bit dry) I have a George Foreman grill so maybe I should try that? Confused

Have you heard of a book called The Curry Secret Nonstop? I couldn't believe the taste!

It is a bit of a ffaff but so delicious once you've cooked it.
