It's dd1's 13th birthday today so I've taken the day off my Saturday job.

We've just opened presents, I've paired her new earphones with her phone despite both girls thinking I can't manage these things Hmm & am about to make a coffee.

Dd1's disappeared upstairs to play one of her new cd's.

My dad's calling round shortly, then her Nanna's visiting.

I'll do exciting jobs like washing, in between visitors.

Takeaway for tea; probably Chinese but the last one we had wasn't brilliant so will try elsewhere.

What about you lot? Anything exciting going on? :)

No we were supposed to go out but the children have decided not to cooperate and are currently screaming at each other

FromTheAllotment · 25/01/2020 10:49

DH is doing productive things like fix the dripping tap. DC are watching television and I’m about to shower. We need to up our game really.

Plans: get DD to finish her thank you letters, do a bit of work, put the clean washing away. Get the DC to make a birthday card for my DF.

maddiemookins16mum · 25/01/2020 11:01

Housework.
Ironing (actually DP does ALL the ironing in front of the football).
Batch cooking a stew and bolognaise sauce for weekday meals later.
Nice long bath this afternoon with Netflix on the ipad.
Popping to get some new shoes for DD and my weekly Saturday visit to the Butchers at 4pm where I get the Sunday joint and weekly meat (always get bargains as he is not open on a Monday).
Chinese takeaway tonight and telly.

Chipsahoy · 25/01/2020 11:45

Shoe shopping for Dc1 this morning, glad we went early, it was getting busy as we left.
Home now and dc3 is going down for a nap and the older two are playing on the ps4 for a bit.
Dh is going for a run. I will tidy, do laundry and then have a cup of tea in peace!
Later we intend to do some gardening and then pizza and a film.
😊

I like hearing what everyone is up to! I had a lovely lie in until 8.45am, I'm 21 weeks pregnant and been suffering with horrible spd but after a chiro visit Thursday the pain is MUCH less so I'm actually enjoying just pottering and cleaning pain free! Fiancé works Saturdays, I've just been dancing in the kitchen and made myself shakshuka with chorizo which was LUSH!!

When I can get my butt into gear, I've got to clean the bathroom and put laundry away.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 25/01/2020 12:27

One lot of washing done and sheets to go in next. We’ve done food shopping and bought some new cutlery. Why are there never equal numbers of knives and forks in the drawer when the dishwasher is empty?

I’ve just eaten a sausage sandwich and will put clean sheets on the bed shortly. Then it’ll be a soak in the bath later, then knitting and TV this evening.

I did loads of housework yesterday, so not doing it again today.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/01/2020 12:29

Friday morning our heating therme (is that English?) died - no hot water or heating until Tuesday morning at the earliest - due to a massive lack of qualified personel in our area.
I am sitting here with lots of layers and hot water bottles in 10° C. DH has a NDN's heater to be able to work and DD bought one for her and her DB's room.
I scrubbed the kitchen and bathroom to keep warm and will bake brownies so I can lounge in front of the oven.

Boys went football with h this morning - I stayed at home and did some washing and tidying plus showered in peace. Laid out lunch - nothing fancy salad, bread, ham boiled eggs and cheese - and waiting for the rush through the door with them both chatting at once and h mumbling about the cold Grin then they need change whilst I wash up. Then off to sil to sister my niece as it’s her birthday - pick up card and present on the way. Dinner there tonight. Tomorrow is ironing, roast and homework day. Ds1 has a match midday. That’s it.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

MrsPear · 25/01/2020 12:39

Oh and must do cake tomorrow as ds1 needs a pack lunch for school trip Monday!

Sarahlou63 · 25/01/2020 12:41

I'm rendering pig fat into lard (kitchen smells lush!) while helping DP dismantle said kitchen to fit new worktops and move cupboards around. Place is currently an absolute tip but we should be finished by tomorrow evening.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 25/01/2020 13:10

I'm recovering from a week of overindulgence (had a friend visiting from the UK) so planning a quiet day doing SFA. Currently sitting on my balcony enjoying the winter Mediterranean sunshine and contemplating having a glass of 🍷😂

HaudMaDug · 25/01/2020 15:13

I've managed 7 miles on treadmill before breakfast.
Dusted and hoovered. Washing machine on.
Think my machine needs a cycle of bleach. Smelling iffy but maybe it was just my socks.
Chased the massive heard of cows out of my garden and back into the field they came from. Why can't idiot walkers close gates or just stick to the bloody path?
Cleared the cow pats from the lawn and dug a new hole and planted my bird table in view of my window.
Lack of coffee now setting in. Kettle calling

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 25/01/2020 15:16

I’m 30 weeks pregnant with my first. After a 45hr week at work and trying to paint the nursery I’ve booked a pregnancy massage this morning and it was amazing! She came to my house. I’ve not moved off the sofa since.

Husband is away with the military for another 4 weeks and so making the most of watching trash tv

babyblackbird · 25/01/2020 15:31

Kids been at school today and husband away so quiet here. Have walked dog, changed and washed all bedding, done an online food shop, put away clean washing. Am looking online for a new rug but can't make up my mind.

Youngest going off for a tennis lesson soon and oldest about to arrive home after netball match. Husband due home later and then we are off out for dinner with friends which will be nice as husband been away 2 nights and is away 4 nights next week and so I have had v little adult convo this week.

misskick · 25/01/2020 16:19

Swimming this morning then to kfc for lunch. Nice warm bath then snuggles with my littles ones while watching a film. Tesco for chicken, Nandos spices and a bottle of wine for this evening. A glass of wine and some crap on tv. Lovely relaxed Saturday.

cheesenpickle · 25/01/2020 16:40

Went to York opera house this morning ( it's residents weekend so all the sights are free to us), my son is in a show in April so we got to look round, go on stage and backstage. Then off to swimming lesson, back for lunch then took him to drama class, he is there till 5 . Did supermarket shop , Dh Will pick him up and then take him to friends house for a couple of hours for horrible histories film and pizza while dh's talk bikes. I'm off into town for a few drinks with a friend.

Tomorrow morning church, Ds then goes to rehearsals for show. We are having slow cooker lamb and dauphoise potatoes tomorrow. I will do some work catch up whilst ds out and some ironing. Fil will join us for tea.

Aragog · 25/01/2020 16:51

Happy birthday to your dd.

We've been to dd's first university interview. Dropped her off later this morning and then headed into Liverpool for a wander. Picked her up 3 and a bit hours later. Now on way home but traffic is busts supposed to be just under 2 hours but looks like it'll be longer.

Good news though as she's already had a text saying she's been successful and she will get an email later with the actual offer, so fingers crossed. It's not her first choice but may be a second - depends on the other interviews and her experiences at then. Had originally said it'd be 1-3 weeks til she heard so finding out quick is nice.

Now heading home for a quiet evening in watching some recorded tv with an easy dinner on our laps.

Mesmeri · 25/01/2020 17:06

Spent most of the morning drinking coffee/doing a bit of vacuuming/folding laundry/making a picnic while the kids played in the house.

Then spent about an hour asking them to get dressed and brush their teeth. Then went out to have a picnic and make bows and arrows/play in the woods.

Now dh has taken the 2 older ones to the cinema, baby is having quality time with MiL and I'm keeping 3 year old company while he watches octonauts.

Now wondering about a sneaky glass of wine before bathtime.....

MinesaPinot · 25/01/2020 17:06

We went out to Wickes to get quote for our proposed bathroom refurb, then to Sainsbury's and Aldi. Got home about 2.45 unpacked shopping and had a bit of lunch and been lounging on the sofa reading the paper and this week's Grazia whilst DH flicked between the cricket and football reports on Sky. I did order an Arnica set from QVC as I needed some and it was a good price

Holymolymackerel · 25/01/2020 18:10

Had a bacon nutty for breakfast then walked to town to have a browse and buy our onion sets and seed potatoes then went to museum.

Then went off to look at a car then came home. DC played together whilst dh and I juggled finances for car and decided it's a non starter so on foot we shall be!

Off to have a long bath then stir fry for tea.
