DH has always wanted to be a train driver. He's seen a job advertised and is desperate to apply.
However it states you must live within a 45 mile commune from the station, we are 90 miles away.
His parents however live very close to the station so he could stay there and come home on his days off.
The plan would then be to transfer so he's based where we live ASAP.
I've told him to apply and enquire as to the possibility of a transfer.
It's his dream job and the money would make a difference.
We can't relocate due to my (also well paid) job and also the cost of living is much cheaper where we are.
I worry I'll resent him leaving me with the children but then my dad worked away when I grew up and I feel it strengthened my parents relationship.
