Any care assistants about? Typical care home shifts?

I start work in a care home in a few weeks and I'm told the shifts are 7 hours but not night work.
Does anyone have any idea what the typical shift times would be? I find out next week some time but I'm just trying to go through child care arrangements and hypothetical issues that could arise.
Thanks!

Normally 12 hrs night shift 8 till 8 and day shifts are spilt into 8 till 2 and 2 till 8 or 12hr day shift 8 till 8

I don't any more but have done in the past.

6am to either 1:30pm or a short shift 6am until 10am, or 1pm to 9:30pm were the main shifts aside from nights. There was always a 30 minute handover/ overlap.

Don't forget your 7 hours will be 7 paid hours and a 30minute unpaid break which you'll have to be very strong willed to avoid working through most of

Mine will be 7 hours a day four days a week, doesn't seem to be an option if short shifts and no night work.
I like the sound of the early shift. That would be perfect.
I'm lucky in that we're paid for breaks at this home.

I worked there for 18 months because the hours suited when I first wanted to get back into work after some time out with babies and toddlers - I used to do 6am to 10am 16 hours per week and be home by 10:30/ pick up at 12 from preschool - DH got the kids up and out those mornings, although I often did weekends. The care home I worked at always needed people on the early morning shift more than the late. Full time employees there tended to prefer the late, partly because it was 8 hours and a 7 hour shift meant working a 5.5 day week, or 5 days and six days alternating.

Oh ok, seems to vary a lot from home to home then!

I'm completely new to shift work but at least I have guaranteed hours and DH can work from home pretty regularly so I should be able to make it work.

1st place I worked was a mixture of
Early - 7am-1.30pm
Late -1pm-8pm
Long day -7am-8pm

2nd home
Early - 7.45-1.30 (I think. I always do a long day)
Late - 1.30-9.15pm
Long day -7.45am-9.15pm
