Portmerion

Is Portmerion village worth a visit? I've always wanted to go but I think I've romanticized it in my mind.
Thinking of going for a special birthday weekend with all the family and staying in the hotel.
I'm open to other suggestions too. Want it to be in the UK.

I've never seen The Prisoner, but we took the kids there when they were little and had the most glorious day out. It was October but so warm the kids ended up in the sea. Loved it and I'd go back for an overnight trip.
