I'm going there tomorrow, and would like to hear what you think are essentials.

Also, what should I order for my lunch?

Oh God. I can feel my decluttered January coming to a U turn

PollyPocketLucyLocket · 23/01/2020 22:16

Goodness Grin

Princessa torta. Little green cakes.

doritosdip · 23/01/2020 22:18

I live 10 minutes from an Ikea. I want to go now!!

scrivette · 23/01/2020 22:33

Make sure your boot is empty before you go, even if you go for one thing you will come out with loads.

If you sign up for the family card you should be able to get free tea or coffee during the week, it means you can go for lunch (meatballs) and then at the end go back for coffee and a bun.

Their mini cinnamon buns in a pack are delicious, you have to buy candles, and I always pick up a Kalax box, children's plastic hangers and sandwich/freezer bags (they do a few different sizes).

If you have children they will take them off of your hands for 45 mins/an hour whilst you shop have coffee and cake in peace.

Ohhh I need to go again now!

GloriaMaximus · 23/01/2020 22:35

How has nobody mentioned their batteries?!

Chocmallows · 23/01/2020 22:43

I've spent about £1000 in last few years, have a large Kallax set, Billy Bookcase, ekert boxes on walls, kids storage shelves with plastic trays (natural wood better than the white version) use a desk as my main table, glass side lamp with unusual bulb, peace Lilly, cacti and lots of smaller items. All great value and robust with DCs banging about the place.

Whattheother2catsprefer · 23/01/2020 22:48

Socktopus!

Gilead · 23/01/2020 23:04

I have loads of Ikea, beds, wardrobe, billy bookcases, love it.
Freezer bags are reusable umpteen times!
Kilner type jars cheaper than anywhere I’ve seen.
My lovely warm duvet is Ikea as is most of my bedding.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 23/01/2020 23:24

Wrapping paper. Great value especially if you have to do lots of kids parties

Claphands · 23/01/2020 23:29

One of those octopus clothes dryers

starfishmummy · 23/01/2020 23:35

Raskog or Rashult trolleys. (Or both)

thrree · 23/01/2020 23:46

Ok, going against the grain and saying I'm not a huge ikea fan for furniture. But I go there for kids wooden hangers, they're a bargain, fake plants (especially orchid) are a winner, some artwork and feather cushions.

thrree · 23/01/2020 23:47

And batteries

BiarritzCrackers · 23/01/2020 23:53

Oh, I want a Raskog very, very much.

Buy lots of sets of tins - more tins than you'll ever have thigns to store in them. But they look so nice.

An hour before I leave - any last minute must haves? Grin

A nice pot plant.

A bunch of flannels

TheClitterati · 24/01/2020 07:41

Some picture frames - I'm always needing another frame.

TheClitterati · 24/01/2020 07:42

I also like the fabric bit as I love to sew

Breathmiller · 24/01/2020 07:45

I’m a bit worried for you if you go to ikea with a shopping list.
The usual method is to go in to buy a candle and come out 4 hours later with an artificial plant, a wardrobe, 2 rugs, 14 picture frames, a mattress, new lights and a kallax unit, and a very rocky marriage.*

You will also not only pay in money but years of your life as you will lose the will to live about halfway round

Breathmiller · 24/01/2020 07:45

Woops highlight fail

DivisionBelles · 24/01/2020 07:49

Kallax, kallax and a bit more kallax just in case. We have over 40 kallax shaped holes in our house! Drona boxes to fill them too. And tea lights of course.

toomanyleggings · 24/01/2020 07:52

I went once and came out empty handed. I don't get it all. Home bargains is another story though

LittleDragonGirl · 24/01/2020 07:57

Has anyone had this wok from ikea www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/identisk-wok-with-lid-dark-grey-aluminium-60149197/ trying to work out if it's worth getting!

Pretty much furnished my entire house with IKEA, some cheap argos home bits and second hand furniture!
Trying to find the time to make the long drive to ikea to get new dinnerware as need new plates bowls etc!

Chocmallows · 24/01/2020 21:48

Don't have a wok, but a tall large saucepan, really cheap and better than Prestige saucepan on my induction hob.
