Help please I’ve just managed to half pull out my coil

Eek and ouch!!

I had a coil put in Tuesday, something felt a bit odd but didn’t think anything of it just a tad uncomfortable.

Went a had a wee and obviously wiped and felt something, had a quick feel and found a really long string which I pulled (not knowing what it was)

Now I’m really bloody sore, and bleeding...do I just yank it all out, obviously not an a&e issue at the moment...111 have been spectacularly unhelpful (not really their fault) it feels half in and half out I will shortly go and see what I can feel on the inside (once I’ve directed Dh to see if he can find the sodding medical gloves)

Any wise ideas?

Ps I’m a regular who’s named changed for this...

Honestly, just go to A&E or your local minor injuries unit - I’m a nurse! Hope that it’s resolved quickly, sounds really sore!

Did they not tell you that there are strings? How odd.
If you have pain and bleeding I think maybe it is an A&E issue.

Flibbertyjibbit · 22/01/2020 23:31

If it's already been partly removed then I think you need to go to A&E / minor injuries to have it fully removed due to pain/bleeding. Good luck!

Go to A&E.
Don't waste time fiddling around with it as it could make it worse.

I would definitely go to out of hours or a & e.
sounds really unpleasant!

What they said ^

Obviously I know I have strings (this is my 6th coil) however I didn’t expect one to be 6 inch outside of me! It probably wasn’t cut down like the rest.

I had a feel and it’s definitely not where it’s supposed to be, it’s like it’s half out.

Bleeding seems ok but it’s still quite painful.

Awaiting the 111 call back (up to 2 hours apparently) so sent Dh to make me a cup of tea

So A&e?

It’s about 30 miles away will see what the wait time is, mind you 111 will probably send me to them anyway

Yes, definitely get down there. Not worth hurting yourself.
