WallE, do you think Disney should release it again?

I think maybe I wasn't ready for it a few years ago, but now I wonder if the world is actually heading that way?

I saw an ad the other day for one of the hover seats they are using in the film.

I watched it again and it doesnt seem so far fetched.

I was thinking this the other day.

FruityWidow · 22/01/2020 20:36

Why are they running out of cash?

No, I just mean it seemed a bit far fetched a few years ago and now it just doesn't. I saw a programme of a recycling plant and it showed all the mountains of rubbish and I was really ashamed of myself.
It's just picked up outside my door by gunmen and I never think about it again. I'm a bit of an asshole.

I think it's a bit like when Michael J Fox plays the guitar in Back to the Future, it was too soon for us, we weren't ready.

Binmen!!

That really would be far fetched Grin

I cant stop laughing at that. Maybe I would be more careful with the recycling if it was picked up by gunmen.

😂

DH and I had the same conversation last weekend when we visited a shopping/leisure centre where anyone can hire a mobility scooter, and there were a disproportionate amount of people using them.

Don't even get me started on the amount of packaging on absolutely everything.

You're right, it's not that far fetched at all.

AlCalavicci · 22/01/2020 20:51

Who I have gunmen picking up your rubbish yike ! LOL GrinGrin.

I think the film was a bit ahead of its time for us brits but I would imagine it was about right for the states as they tend to be ahead of us with tec.

That said I bought a robot vac a few weeks ago , I didn't / don't know if they existed when the film was released .
I'd love to see it again .

ReadingwithTea · 22/01/2020 22:02

Yes! I loved that film. I agree that the whole recycling element would resonate even more now, too.

Inspired by this thread, I just had to listen to Louis Armstrong’s amazing version of La Vie En Rose, which is played on the movie - fabulous track, and so lovely that WallE likes to listen to it.

Yes I rewatched it recently too.
More of an impact than original viewing

MumofTinies · 22/01/2020 22:10

My DS is Wall-e obsessed. It's such an underrated film, it definately needs a revival.

3luckystars · 24/01/2020 22:14

I was thinking about this again tonight, and maybe the film didn't go down too well because there was no bad guy in it (we are the bad guys.)

I also found that Louis Armstrong song that was mentioned above and listened to it.

Thank you @ReadingwithTea
