Anyone going to see Madonna's "Madame X" tour in London?

I am, and I'm really worried that she's going to cancel Sad

For context, she's cancelled loads of shows on this tour, often with little notice.

Lord, no.reckon you're 20 years too late to see Madonna...

dayswithaY · 22/01/2020 20:02

Last time I saw her she was over two hours late on stage. Never again.

PolloDePrimavera · 22/01/2020 20:03

You'll get your money back though, is that what you're worrying about? And the tickets were a lot of money!!

I don't want my money back! I want to see the show! Sad

I'm not going myself but I've been following news on the tour. What date are you going? The most recent cancellations have all been on the second consecutive night of shows. So if there's a day off before your show, or if it's the third consecutive night, then your chances are slightly better. But if you're making a special trip to London I'd certainly be planning something else to do that evening, in case it doesn't go ahead.

UYScuti · 23/01/2020 01:55

2 hours late, how can shejustify that 😳😲😳

SpoonBlender · 23/01/2020 02:50

She can't sing any more. Not as bad as Ian Brown, but not at all good.

MaggieMcSplash · 23/01/2020 03:22

No. She's terrible live. Saw her in Hyde park years ago. Never again.

PeytonManning · 23/01/2020 03:34

She was two hours late last time I saw her too. And then yelled at the audience for not being “ fucking enthusiastic” enough. That was a shed load of money well spent. Not.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 23/01/2020 03:36

My BFF is going to see her next week with his partner and has spent about £500 on the tickets and god knows how much on the hotel and train. They're not bothered if she cancels because we're all due to go on holiday the week after and they will get a refund, so more spending money, but I feel for the fans who will waste so much money getting there and time off from work.

Shev1996 · 23/01/2020 04:07

I hope you haven’t booked train tickets or hotels as that money will be lost if age cancels. But still it might be worth losing the money not to have to witness the performance I saw last which I was so excited for, she sounded drunk and ranted a lot after arriving late. Ruined in my mind an idol for me

JemimaTab · 23/01/2020 07:53

She’s had a lot of cancellations and delays. For one of her US shows, she didn’t go on stage until after midnight.

SpikesOfAPenguin · 23/01/2020 08:15

After her awful Eurovision performance why would you want to. You're 20 years too late. Her voice has gone.

PolloDePrimavera · 23/01/2020 08:24

I don't think it's ever been about the voice with Madonna. She did sing well when she was in Evita but had coaching. It's about the performance and, even when she's late, she does put on a bloody good show. Hope you get to see her.

UYScuti · 23/01/2020 09:02

Sounds like Madge is running out of plausible persona options... Stroppy diva isn't going to fly anymore is it?

JemimaTab · 26/01/2020 05:46

It’s now being reported that she has indeed cancelled the first of her London dates.

soberfabulous · 26/01/2020 05:55

I saw her 8 years ago and she was shocking. We walked out before the end.

Even the show was dreadful; it wasn't just her voice.

Fallsballs · 26/01/2020 08:03

I saw her about 6 years ago. I admired her agility given she’s older than me but the acoustics were shit. She admits she’s not the best singer. I think the big venues don’t work with her.

DrunkenSailors · 26/01/2020 10:33

If she's gong to cancel my night, I hope she gives us a fair bit of notice Sad

I'm going to 2 shows and are as stressed as you, think all the fans are.

Instead off being excited for the shows, I feel sick with worry. I'm in 2 minds, one I hope she doesn't cancel but in another way I wish she'd just cancel the rest off the shows now, so we can get hotel costs back.

I'm gonna be so pissed if travel down to London and check in hotel and she cancels late.

Hope u get to see Madonna and enjoy and ignore the put downs she's not liked on Mumsnet and people are jealous.

This show has been praised as her best.

DrunkenSailors · 26/01/2020 20:23

The venue has released some info on the pre-parties etc, so hopefully that means that some of the gigs are going ahead. Smile

Patsypie · 26/01/2020 20:27

She's been shit for 20 years and clearly doesn't give a flying fuck about her fans

DrunkenSailors · 29/01/2020 23:54

Yay! She performed tonight aparently! Smile
