Breast tenderness after a miscarriage

I’ve just recently suffered a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks. It’s been almost 3 weeks now since the first symptoms of miscarriage begun and today I have started to feel really sore and tender breasts (particularly my nipples) I never even felt breast tenderness when I was pregnant so I’m slightly confused over this. Has anyone else suffered with this after a miscarriage?

I guess I’m slightly more concerned about this as when I went for my ultrasound they could not find a gestational sac but they did find a mass on my ovary that they originally thought could have been an ectopic pregnancy, but after monitoring my HCG levels which are decreasing quickly they ruled this out and put it down to a natural miscarriage and a possible cyst (further investigation to follow)

I haven’t been bleeding now for about a week and all other symptoms seemed to have passed, so I do think it has completed, just slightly bizarre that this breast tenderness has came out of nowhere. Is there a chance this could be ovulation returning maybe?

Sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage 5 weeks ago, all my pregnancy symptoms stopped immediately but I’ve since this week started to have tender breasts again. I’m thinking it could be ovulation or period coming.

Sorry for your loss also Southmouth, I hope you’re doing ok. Yes possibly with it being 5 week after it may be a sign of an upcoming period, my doctor told me it would be between 4-6 weeks
