I'll try to keep this short.
Family friend has DS & Partner living with her and DH.
DS I have known my whole life and would consider him a good friend. He used to be able to hold a job down but over the last 1.5 years has just been walking out of jobs and expecting his DM & DF to pay his way. He is 28.
His DM asks them for £400 rent pm between them. His partner works full time and at the moment so does he.
Family friend was speaking to me about how DS's partner had said to her she is sick of paying £200 a month to her for her to be going off on weekends away with her DH... Family friend buys all food etc. She now feels like she can't go away and DS's DP is constantly watching her spending.
DS soon approached her afterwards and said he doesn't understand why he would pay to live in his parents house especially when the mortgage is paid off.
Family friend and DH pulled them both to one side and said their behaviour is disgusting and they should move out. They replied with they will but don't expect any rent in the meantime as they will be saving for their own rental 
.
This all happened before Christmas and as expected they have paid no rent.
DS's DP has been bad mouthing family friends to a lot of people including me. I said I don't agree with their behaviour and think for the area we live in £400 was very reasonable when they have to pay for nothing else except their own cars etc. I also said I don't think it is right they are dedicating what the parents spend their money on and are CF's.
Because I didn't give the answer they wanted they went on to send me horrible messages and said not to talk to them anymore.
I feel maybe I shouldn't have replied as I've lost a long term friend but I saw the distress it was causing family friend so when the opportunity came to speak my mind then I thought I would.
More just a rant really but I can't believe how entitled they are acting.
Family friend is so upset that she now feels it's her fault and doesn't want to loose a relationship with her DS which he has threatened to do once he moves out.
