I had a delivery from Next today and couldn't make it to the door in time so instead of leaving the parcel on the door step (front door is on the side of the house not facing the road) like I requested or even putting it over the fence/putting through the utility room window, which is right next to the front door, like Amazon or RM do, they forced it through my cat flap and broke it. It's a microchip ID one, only a couple of months old and it's completely useless now, doesn't lock at all, even the wind is blowing it open.
I understand that delivery drivers are under a lot of pressure and it must be so frustrating when people don't answer the door quickly enough but this has really annoyed me.
It was a tiny package and there were so many other places to leave it that she walked past to get to the cat flap and she gave it some welly forcing it through. I don't know why she didn't just stop when she first tried to push it open and it didn't budge.
Would it be reasonable to email next and complain?
