How is statutory sick pay paid?

My boss is currently either ignoring my questions about this or saying she doesn’t know and will call HR.

I’ve tried to call HR/payroll, left 8 messages over 4 weeks but no one has called me back.

I’ve been signed off sick on SSP (no sick pay at all in my company) for 6 weeks. I’ve sent in all the drs notes.

How does SSP get paid and when?

I get mine from my company on my usual pay day.

I pay it through the payroll on normal pay day.

Can you email HR so there's a paper trail?

Thank you.
I think it’s yet another thing my manger has fucked up - I doubt she would have passed on the sick notes/information to them.

HMRC don't pay it - the company does.

The companies now have to meet the cost whereas previously small companies could claim it back from HMRC. They just don't want to pay you. Agree with ringing ACAS and following their advice, which will include doing everything in writing.
