Can anyone not be bothered with parenting this week

I've started the week in a funk, I just really can't be bothered. Obviously I am parenting as I cant leave a 2 year old and a 3 Month old to themselves but I just can't find any motivation.

Anyone else feeling like it?

I can't even say I haven't had a break as I went on a spa day on Sun and DD only had two quick wake ups last night

I've got a playgroup later so hopefully that'll inspire me

Me. We have had Norovirus in the house since Thursday night so not had a full nights sleep since then, DS in particular just cannot get over it and it is draining for all of us.

So we are trying to function on no sleep whilst recovering ourselves and having to sort work schedules so someone can be home with DS as it is unlikely he will be back at school this week.

So yeah....

Me! 2.5 year old and 5 month old here. Apparently 3rd Monday in January is "blue monday". Makes sense. Freezing outside, Christmas over, nothing "nice" imminent.

When I have days like this I give myself a little shake and try to have lots of fun with them rather than switching off. Works sometimes.

@Brief that sounds awful, no wonder you're not feeling it.

Definitely need to give myself a shake and liven up. Just trying to get DD to go to sleep but she's not feeling that either

Yep. Toddler (usually a really easy-going delight) is low-level ill and feeling sensitive. I’m knackered, at home with her cos she’s too ill to go to the childminder, and just cba. I just want to sit on the floor and gaze into space, which is annoying because usually I wish I could be with her rather than at work!

Me. I love my 9 year old but this week I've been dreading him coming home from school and moaning about everything I ask him to do...

Mines 3 weeks old today, sleeping soundly in her rocker while I’m rolled inside the duvet on the sofa.. I love this parenting thing today.

Parenting is really tough in this weather I think.

Obviously you can do the park but it’s not the same. In the summer you can just have an off day and drag them all out and spend a few hours in a playground, having an ice cream, wandering slowly back at a toddler’s pace ...

In this weather you’re either stuck inside or going out isn’t all that pleasant and you’ve got to get all the kids on loads of layers which they’ll complain about ...

Roll on spring.
