When to give Christening invitations?

Just wondered how long before the Christening I should give the invitations out? Don't want to leave it too late but also don't want to give them out too early and then it be forgotten about

Could you let key people know when it is and then say ‘invite to follow’? I can see you don’t want to send invites 6 months before but a lot of people will be booked up a month before and it would be a shame if anyone close to you missed it.

3 months before- most people I know like notice. 4 weeks just doesn’t seem enough

It's at the end of April, will get invitations ordered and hand them out next month
