The dullest post ever - recommend me your vac!

Seriously, I don't even know who I am anymore...

Our cordless Dyson has given up the ghost after 2.5 years #pileofshite

Interested to know what you recommend - needs to be lightweight and cordless, and ideally, it would be good if it had the option to wash the carpet as well, but I dunno if that's a thing.

Please advise carefully, as I'm going to order the majority vote pretty much immediately. Thanks all! xx

Cordless dyson - ours is the v7 or 8, still love it.

We have a shark duo clean and it's amazing

Have you considered a robot vac ?
I have just bought a Eufy for about £200 , it is brill !
Obviously it won't shampoo the carpet but you can hire a rug doctor when you need it .

AlCalavicci · 20/01/2020 20:47

There are a few threads on here about robot vacs if you want other opinions Smile

Your dyson may not need much to fix it? Be worth it if it’s been good so far.

Namethecat · 20/01/2020 20:54

It's a plug in, but Sebo, really happy with mine.

Pyjamaface · 20/01/2020 20:56

G Tech Air Ram - bloody love it, Very light, a charge lasts ages and simple to empty.

MPForFlydaleNorth · 20/01/2020 20:58

I've got a reconditioned Dyson v6 and love it

BadEyeBri · 20/01/2020 20:59

Vax blade 2 is bloody amazing and lighter then the dyson. Plus cheaper

SetTheScene · 20/01/2020 21:01

Shark Duo. Love mine. I've had it a year and I'm still amazed every time I use it how much crap it picks up that I couldn't even see. Easy to use and manoeuvre, lightweight, onboard tools that actually work but aren't fiddly.

Namethecat · 20/01/2020 21:01

Sorry 're read, you need cordless !

HarrietSchulenberg · 20/01/2020 21:04

My dyson cordless is wonderful. It did stop unexpectedly once but the filters just needed a clean. Love it.

legalseagull · 20/01/2020 21:14

Shark! Soooooo much better than my cordless vacuum

TemporaryName123 · 20/01/2020 21:15

Gtech Pro: I’m in love!

LittleScottish · 20/01/2020 21:42

Eek - lots of research to do then! Thank you all!

In the interests of transparency (and I can hear what a knob I sound!) it's not for me - the cleaner needs to be able to clean 3 floors inc stairs, and she's getting on a bit! Need to ensure that what I get is lightweight.

Miele, but not cordless. Would not have any other.

TheChippendenSpook · 20/01/2020 21:47

I have a Sebo. It's powerful but if I don't take the base off the bottom when I need to use the hose attachment, it falls over and the handle hits me on the head!
