Use by date on pasta sauce

My fresh 4 cheese pasta sauce says best before 24th can i open it on the 24th and eat half then cook other half on the 25th is this safe

No you will DIE!

Of course it will be OK if you refrigerate it after opening. Honestly there appears to be an awful lot of anxiety around dates on food now.

BBF is a guide not an order to throw it out at midnight!
