I had a call yesteday morning at 6am ( ffs ) saying my broad band provider was going to cut me off at 10am .
I think it was a automated call but the voice was odd , very slow and not that tinny robotic voice you normally get All I had to do was press 1 to stay connected and press 2 to disconnect ( from the broad band )
Yeah right !
Guess what my BB doing just fine Hmm

I had a call like this a few weeks ago from a genuine sounding woman saying my card had been used on booking.com for 2 large amounts, and asking for bank details so she could put a stop to the transactions. The phone number was the actual bank number and when I queried as to how did I know this was genuine she said check your bank card for the telephone number. I declined to continue the call and then rang my bank (from my landline) who told me no such transactions had been made and it was a scam. These scammers can ‘clone’ the bank’s phone number so that people think it’s legit. Funnily enough they rang again the next day, same number, similar scam and I said ‘How do sleep at night, scamming people for a living?’
