Bra measuring - small independent shop?

Hi all. I've been measured previously in M and S, a very long time ago. Local M and S has closed but I have to say I've heard they're not great anyway. We have a house of Fraser but it's pretty small. Anyway, I spotted a small independent shop quite a way out of town. It says "lingerie and swimwear specialists" do you think this is the sort of place I could ask about measuring? Have you used a small independent?

I used to always go to a small independent in my local town but sadly they have now closed.
I would imagine if they sell lingerie they will measure you.
When I used to go, once measured the lady would go and get loads of different bras which was great except some of them were ££££s. Once in one, she would come into the changing room and check the fit.

Ah great, thankyou. Am in need of new bras plus a sports bra so will actually be in the market for those. As long as not too ££££

Small independent shop in our town. Massive difference with the correct sized bra. I think I paid about £35 a bra

Thank you. Just looked at their website and they do offer a measuring service. Bras vary in price from £38 to about £90 and beyond. £38 I can stretch to but it'll have to be 1 bra per month! (Buying them, I mean)

YY she would bring armfils of bras to the changing room and some were nearly £100. Shock I think I too paid about £35/£40 each for two very well fitting bras.
I wonder if someone tries one of those £££ ones on and it's the perfect fit in every way they will buy it anyway. Grin

Yes definitely try there.

If you get measured for one cheaper one, Bravissimo has a sale on, so you could order more to try. I think their Millie bra is pretty good, although not in the sale at £34.

I found independent shops rather hit-and-miss when it came to fitting but the Reddit A Bra That Fits beginner's guide is accurate for measuring myself. Once you find a brand and size that fits you you can find bras cheaply on-line. I buy my bras (Curvy Kate, mostly) from eBay, Belle Lingerie and Brastop.
