Small wedding - does this sound okay?

DD getting married in a few months. Just them plus 2 witnesses in the town where they live. They will then have brunch with his family who live locally and afterwards travel down to DD's home town (3 hours away).

Plan then is to have dinner with DD's family (so DH, me, DD's siblings and partners, GM, possibly aunts & uncles).

The reason for two separate receptions is that DSIL to be is nervous about how his family will behave (alcohol problems).

We want this to be special for DD & DSIL but not too overwhelming.

Does this sound okay?

Sounds ok to me if it's what.

For me too much travelling on a wedding day. I presume one of them will have to drive? So no champagne or what ever.

Could you lot travel up to them for the dinner?

If that’s what the bride and groom want then it’s perfectly fine!
If in their heart of hearts they just want to celebrate between themselves encourage them to do that instead. Life’s too short to be scared of rocking the boat!

Mehmehmeh19 they wont be driving, one of the witnesses is bringing them.

They do want to come to DD's home town on the day.

I will suggest dinner in the town where they live and see what they think.
