Can you tell me about menopause and exhaustion? And HRT?

I’ve had crushing fatigue for years and global pain. Blood results all normal. I’ve had some night sweats/insomnia, but it could be caused by medication

GP has suggested I could try some oestrogen to see if I am in early stages of menopause and it might help. I’m so desperate to feel ‘better’ I’m going to give it a go, I think. But wondered if others had overwhelming fatigue with menopause and whether oestrogen helped?

TIA

Sorry, vitally...I have had a hysterectomy so periods are no indication

Meds sorry

Thyroid is normal, iron, but D etc...all normal

Fatigue predates meds. But meds could certainly have caused the night sweats/insomnia

I have been using oestrogen patches along with Mirena coil for 2yrs. It helps but not total solution. The fatigue has improved since I went part time and my stress levels are considerably reduced ( very stressful healthcare job). I think I have started to come out of the fog though since my libido reappeared a month ago, I really thought that it had gone for good. DH is certainly delighted it was a Christmas bonus for him.
Most women I have talked to say that it doesn’t last forever but it varies from woman to woman. I would say that for me it’s been about 3 years. I have discussed testosterone replacement with GP which apparently is much more effective for fatigue and aches and pains which have been my main symptoms. I’ve only really had mild hot flushes and those have disappeared with low dose HRT.
