Does your 14yr old have snapchat?

I know they should turn the location feature off. And ds is autistic and has assured me he would never send dodgy pictures as it is against the law (VERY into laws and not breaking them, wants to go into the police and would not break rules etc.) Is the drug dealing (not that ds would do drugs - see above - plus he knows the links of ADHD and drug addiction, which he also has) really a thing? I am so torn!

Do most 14yr olds have it? It just seems so...dodgy?

it is dodgy

I've heard of a lot of bullying going on via snapchat.

Make sure he has the option to save messages on, or that he knows how to save individual ones.

Turn Snap Maps onto ghost mode.

He seems sensible enough from what you’ve said. I have the exact same conditions fwiw and have never come across drug dealing on there myself - and I’m a uni student. As long as he’s only adding people he knows all should be fine.

Also you can see when people screenshot or save your photos, so it’s a very transparent app in that regard.

If any bullying occurs, he should take a photograph of his screen using another device, though something tells me he’d stand by a screenshot if he knew he was doing the right thing (ASD, strong morals and that)

I should probably clarify by “conditions” I mean medical, ie. I have ASD/ADHD too.

Thanks all. Bullying is another concern, for sure. Although he does seem to have a good group of friends (though they spend far too long in coffee shops at the weekend! Grin) but drugs in his school are rife - he nows people in gangs, with knives, dealers etc.
