Clothes that always get spilled on!

Does anyone else have certain tops that whenever you wear them you always spill or splash or mark in some way within hours? I can wear most of my tops and never get anything on them but I get the odd one that's never out of the wash. I got one for Christmas that I really like but as soon as I get it on it's back in the wash. Or is that just me?

I have a top that is now specifically called "cursed top" for this reason!

BearSoFair · 18/01/2020 14:07

Yep! I have a yellow and black jumper (it doesn't look like a bee, honest!) that I usually spill coffee or splash sauce from dinner on, or it gets walked on by a cat with muddy paws...

ReginaGeorgeous · 18/01/2020 14:09

Every time I wear a white tshirt

Chemenger · 18/01/2020 14:18

I have learned never to take white t shirts on holiday, since they never survive unstained beyond the first meal, snack or drink. Anything else I can wear without problems.

FlamingoAndJohn · 18/01/2020 14:19

Yes! I have a certain Seasalt standard white striped jumper. It lasts about 20 minutes before I get something down it.
Other similar jumpers are usually fine.

keepingbees · 18/01/2020 14:29

Yes! I thought this was just me. It's usually something light coloured or something you really like wearing.

Ohwhatbliss · 18/01/2020 14:32

I've bought about 3 different khaki t shirts now, nice expensive ones, and I've ruined every single one with an oil type stain on first wear. Wtf is that about?

dudsville · 18/01/2020 15:00

I have had these tops, but I get rid of them. They are cursed and there's nothing that can be done.

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 18/01/2020 15:03

I tend to wear a black skirt to work

I dribble toothpaste on it every bastard time I wear it

Never normally dribble toothpaste 😆

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 18/01/2020 15:03

And never see it until I get to work!!!

thenightsky · 18/01/2020 15:04

Yes, a light lilac silky top. I love it, but food (especially the greasy kind) is like a magnet to it. It spends more time soaking in a bowl of vanish than it ever does being worn.

CrowleysBentley · 18/01/2020 15:06

Any time I wear anything that's not black or dark grey. I've given up trying to wear white tops.

bornonasunday · 18/01/2020 15:10

Yes, PotaoespastaandBread - I used to do this all the time... but now my works uniform is pretty much all black, I don’t get dressed until after make-up and toothpaste done!

Regarding tops that get messy - anything white or pale are dead certs- and it’s always something greasy or stainy ... curry, gravy, berries etc

A personal gripe is washing and drying a lovely fluffy white bathrobe... pop it on, sit down for a cup of tea... pop it back off straight into the wash again with tea all down it...😡
Every bloody time.

bluebella4 · 18/01/2020 15:26

@Regina SAME!! You can garentee I'll mark it no matter how carefully I am.. So annoying

Hairydogmummy · 18/01/2020 15:37

Thank god it's not just me being paranoid! It's not even a white top with me...this time it's a lovely dark turquoise sweatshirt type top from Warehouse. Grease spots, food, wine and toothpaste splashes. It'll have to go eventually when something gets on it I can't get out or it fades from the constant washing. Never happens with an old top, always a nice new one...

I have a blue dress that whenever I wear it, without fail, someone will spill something on me!

HungryForSnacks · 18/01/2020 16:22

For me it's anything brand new. I'll be excited about wearing it and... Splat! Every time

TonTonMacoute · 18/01/2020 17:36

Anything that's a pale colour, a bit smart and a bit more expensive than usual.

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 22/01/2020 17:20

@bornonasunday DH wears his dressing gown over his suit while brushing his teeth. Live hack. I might have to copy!
