Can you recognise this label (boys trousers) and what's the largest school trousers out there?

I have a ver long legged child and was able to finally find some trousers for the start of term for him. This was after ordering from most of the high street and now stupidly I can't remember wheee they are from!

They are age 16. And he has about grown them already.

My question is, can anybody identify the 'School Wear' brand and let me know where I bought them? Hopefully that store does a larger sir but most don't go behind 16 and even most 16s weren't long enough.

Anywhere on the high street do beyond a 16? I can buy them from the school outfitters shop at £25 a pair but would rather not as he has a fresh pair every other day.

Thanks

The label says 'Matalan Retail Ltd'

Finfintytint · 18/01/2020 09:43

My guess would also be Matalan.

It says Matalan.

Bunnybigears · 18/01/2020 09:45

The label says Matalan but surely if he has outgrown age 16 you just buy mans trousers anyway?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 18/01/2020 09:47

Yeah it does actually say Matalan on it.

I have a tall 16 year old and he wears Next school trousers.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/01/2020 09:48

Can you not just order men's trousers for him now?. I used to buy trousers in Next for my tall DSs, that way you can order the correct waist and leg measurements. Generally a bit more expensive than school trousers, but at that age they don't need many pairs and they tend to be made better ime.

OldEvilOwl · 18/01/2020 09:52

Matalan. But it sounds like he needs mens now. Surely he can keep himself clean enough not to need a fresh pair every day if your worried about cost? My 9year old manages easily with 2/3 pairs in a week

ItWentInMyEye · 18/01/2020 09:58

My (just) 12 year old is currently outgrowing his 16-16 trousers I bought at the start of January Sad Think I'm gonna have to buy him some slim fit small men's trousers.

afromom · 18/01/2020 10:09

Do you need age 16 for the waist as well as leg length? If not M&S is a good option. They do elasticated waist and both long and extra long length leg.

DS is 6ft2, with very long legs (his friend is 6ft5 and they have the same leg length). But his waist is more like age 13. So I buy him age 15-16, extra long, super skinny leg and use the elastic bits to make the waist fit. I've tried everywhere else and they are the only kids ones that reach his ankles and don't fall down.

ElderAve · 18/01/2020 10:13

My ds1 had to wear Mens in yr 10 &11 whcuh is heart breaking because they're £££££ compared to "school" trousers and also not as easy as it sounds to get the long leg with a slim waist. Primark was the answer in the end. Men's "suit" trousers at a similar price to school trousers and made to fit tall skinny people. (Poor quality, but they did and you can't have everything)

dementedpixie · 18/01/2020 10:16

Dont think matalan does larger than age 16. Try mens trousers instead

Shoeshelpplease · 18/01/2020 22:07

Ha ha well don't I feel like a eight plonker!

In my (v weak) defense I am at that age where my eyesight is failing and I really need my reading glasses but m stubborn bad and just move thing in front of me till they come into (or not) focus!

Yes I remember that's the largest Matalan do. We gave up with M&S this time as their longest extending leg are too short. I really did do a thorough shop as men's seems so much more expensive.

Next is one I didn't try as I haven't shopped their for years since they let the accountants in and everything seem to be produced in polyester but I'll have a look.

Thanks all for your patience with a very dim short sighted dimwit!

Would love some recommendations for food quality well priced men's trousers.

Sorry to hear Primark are poor quality. I dont like the store for a variety of reasons and have a real problem with cheap polyester clothes but when I was in there buying an inflatable a couple of years ago I had a look at the men's and found some good value men's shorts and trousers for my son and they have washed and worn incredibly well. I've been so pleased with them, they are the thick cotton chino type ones which look smart and modern too. Shame about the suit trousers.

Anywhere else to try? Would love to pay was than £25 a pair and avoid polyester but am I dreaming?

Don't get me started on school shorts for the very tall boys!

DH buys plain work trousers from Debenhams and I always think they look like school trousers, so I'd look there. He doesn't pay more than £20 a pair as he ruins them when he goes onto the shop floor.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/01/2020 22:21

These are the ones my DSs liked, they come in different styles e.g. skinny/slim/regular and come in different leg lengths. You can also get them without the stretch but DSs liked that as they were comfier.
