DS vomiting bug returning after few days?

DS7 vomited around midnight on Sunday night. No more vomiting during Monday (and no diarrhoea) but was lethargic and no appetite. Monday night - small amount of vomiting in middle of night and retching on and off. Seemed to get better from Tuesday onwards, no more vomiting and returned to school on Thursday.

Today (Friday) he had two episodes of diarrhoea in school and tonight, again around midnight, more copious vomiting. I've never known a bug with no cramps and only for vomiting to happen a couple of times, stop and then return several days later? Has anyone else any experience of this?

Currently lying awake listening out for him in case it starts again Sad

We are in the midst of something sounding similar. DS sick before the end of last term. Just before getting up in the morning, find on liquids that day, sick again after a few hours in bed. We have then had the exact same pattern last week and this week with 4 days at school seemingly 100%in the middle. It’s exhausting and worrying isn’t it

Sorry to hear your story @iamhopeful Sadit's just not following a pattern I'd expect. Might phone GP on Monday. Have you spoke to a doctor?

This was a few years ago now, but my DS vomited on the Tuesday night, and continued with sickness during Wednesday. So the 48 hour hour rule to be off school after bouts of sickness/diarrhoea meant he was off the rest of the week.

Seemed to get better over the weekend and we were gearing up to return to school on Monday, when he was sick again Sunday night. Which meant another two days off school - 5 in total over two weeks.

DS had similar, doctor said he'd just not got over it properly and once starting to eat normally body responds again. We were told to keep him hydrated and only food if he wanted but no fruit, dairy etc for a few days.

Thanks all. I had started to give him dairy and fruit again. Back to crackers and toast it is!

It’s so hard isn’t it, just when you think you are sorted it comes back. We went to the gp on Friday and he was a puzzled as we are, if it continues over the next two weeks we have to go back probably for a referral to the hospital. I weighed him last night and he is 5kg lighter than when he was 3, he’s now 4 and a half. Not sure what to make of that.

Oh poor you @iamhopeful , definitely push for further investigation if it continues, especially if he's losing weight.

No more sickness here since Friday night, but he's exceptionally grumpy, which isn't like him at all....
