If you won tonight's Jackpot of £85m, what house would you buy?

Just that really. I have spent far too much time this week looking at houses I can't afford and dreaming of winning the lottery. Plus, I am very nosey and I like looking at houses on the internet Grin

I wouldn’t buy a new one. I love my old quirky cottage. Id not tell anyone that I’ve won anyhow.

I would decorate it through. Been here for 7 yrs and after living here I realise its dated. New kitchen (lighter than the one I have now), new sofa, curtain etc. Bedroom furniture and new bathrooms.

Plus build a garage and tarmac the area.

Isn't there already the exact same thread ? Confused

Is there? So sorry, I seem to have totally missed that one. In my defence, it's been a long day and I'm really hungry. Will toddle off to the other thread Smile

There's a listed house in disrepair, opposite the church in the village my son goes to school. I'd buy that and return it to its former glory.

I'd buy a cottage in the country with good heating and a massive kitchen. It would have a stream that runs through the garden and a big tree to build a treehouse in.

There's a lovely one for sale near DS' school and DD's playgroup. 3 floors plus a good roof space, nice layout, huge garden and just looks nice. It's "only" £350,000 or so, though, which seems low, so maybe there's something about it that's less than perfect!

Though, if I had £85m, neither of us would need to work, so we could move to the countryside or by the sea (if I could convince DH that it's ok to move more than 20 minutes away from his parents 🙄), and I'd design us a really nice house. I've even planned which prints I'd put on the wall in the library/study (I know I could buy actual artwork with £85m, but the kids would probably draw on it or something).

I'd relocate to Berlin.

I think I’d move to NYC for awhile and have a small house in the country too.
