Heart palpitations feel like clicking?

DoggyPaulAnka · 17/01/2020 17:18

Not sure if what I’m experiencing are heart palpitations or not. It feels like a click in the centre of my chest. Only lasts a second or two. More obvious when moving position or twisting round.

I can’t find a description of palpitations that feel like a click. Just wondered if anyone had experienced similar? Don’t want to bother GP if he’s going to look at me like I’m a crazy person.

The clicking is quite persistent at the moment but I still can’t tell if it’s my heart or not.

could it be ectopic heartbeats?

DoggyPaulAnka · 17/01/2020 22:45

Not sure. It just seems odd that they happen when I move. Rolling over in bed etc and I can’t see anyone else describe palpitations as a clicking.

I can't help you with what it might be but I've definitely had this before so you're not going mad!

Is it a one off click? Is it your heart or a catch when you breath?

Troels · 17/01/2020 22:54

I often have a wierd feeling when I lie on my left side in bed. Hard to describe, like getting a regular flick from the inside?? Not painful just odd. It makes me move. Don't think I have any heart problems.

It feels a bit like how it feels to click a computer mouse but in my chest. It’s not catching when I breathe. Seems to release some kind of tension when I move. It lasts less than a second. But today it has happened quite a bit and once or twice when not moving. I just don’t want to ask doctor about my computer mouse clicking chest. Blush

Small muscle spasm?

DoggyPaulAnka · 18/01/2020 00:59

TheSparklyPussycat hmm could be. I’ve been experiencing muscle spasms in other muscles.

Could it be Precordial catch syndrome

DecemberSnow · 18/01/2020 01:01

Or slipping rib

zoobincan · 18/01/2020 01:01

Costochodral joints can make these noises

DoggyPaulAnka · 18/01/2020 01:06

It’s completely painless. Not sure if that rules out the catch thing. It’s keeping me awake now because every time I roll over I feel this annoying click. Gggrrr

I get a similar thing. It's like a clicking near to the bottom of sternum. I have had issues with costochondral separation though so might be that, don't know if it is.

I always imagine it like to small clackers clicking together.

CareyFairy · 18/01/2020 01:13

I don't get any pain either.
