I need Shaders and Toners or Harmony triangles!

Whatever happened to them!? I dyed my light brown hair what I thought would turn out a beautiful golden copper. It turned out a dirty orange. I then put a light brown non permanent over the top and no visible change. I just need a brown tint to tone it down. I'd have been ok in the 80s... There were more options....

Silver shampoo and conditioner it's designed to tone down brassieres - I like the Bleach London ones, you can get it in boots Grin

I bloody loved my Harmony rinses (triangular boxes) ... did one nearly every Saturday! I can actually smell them now just thinking about them 🤣🤣

Coniferhedge · 17/01/2020 17:10

I’d completely forgotten about Harmony, I used to love using those. I remember once using a Shader in an ash blonde colour and my hair turning a steel grey colour. Would be seen as trendy now, but not back in the 80’s! I remember sitting in the bathroom with my Mum washing my hair over and over to get it out!

Superdrug do their own version very similar 👍

Hair used to feel amazing with a lovely shine

Pannalash · 17/01/2020 17:41

Blimey @Handbaghag

’shaders and toners’ showing your age there Grin

Handbaghag · 17/01/2020 17:51

😁😁Pannalash and the fact that you know I'm showering my age by saying that shows yours too 😂😂

Or even showing... 😆

You can get harmony in our local pharmacy

Handbaghag · 17/01/2020 17:55

FrangipaniBlue my brassieres are ok but my brassiness, yes 😂. Have bought touch of silver but still the colour is yuk. Caught sight of hair colour removal boxes with the colourants. Dunno if I'm brave enough...

@Handbaghag guilty as charged Grin. I’m sure they used to give away sachets on the front of Jackie Magazine.

fartingsparkles · 17/01/2020 18:00

The 'savers' shops often have Harmony. I tend to use the superdrug wash in/out colours to perk my hair up. They're really nice and often bogof

woodhill · 17/01/2020 18:03

Used to love Harmony and Shaders

Fruitloopcowabunga · 17/01/2020 18:03

Aww, my mum used to dye her hair 'brown velvet' with those harmony triangles, thank you for reminding me

Handbaghag · 17/01/2020 18:40

Fruitloopcowabunga have just looked on Amazon and found loads of foreign equivalents including one called Velvet Brown 🙂. Going to order some brown colour wash conditioner

That’s going back OP! I won a shaders & toners beauty contest at a holiday camp many years ago, sympathy vote I reckon! My wonderful Nan loved harmony too.

FrangipaniBlue · 18/01/2020 18:54

Hahaha I've just realised my autocorrect fail of BRASSINESS to brassieres GrinBlush

PontiacBandit · 18/01/2020 18:57

I loved Harmony colours, I used them all the time. Different shades of red and plum.

blibblibs · 18/01/2020 19:00

This stuff is excellent, I gave up permanent dye about a year ago and just use this

I need Shaders and Toners or Harmony triangles!
Morgenrot · 18/01/2020 19:42

You can get harmony on amazon. I used the copper colour while I was growing out red hair dye.

JigsawsAreInPieces · 18/01/2020 20:23

Shaders and toners! I remember the advert in the magazines, just wash in and wash out. Yeah. 😄

Handbaghag · 19/01/2020 08:04

blibblibs yes! I did a search and had bought some of this before your post. Glad to hear you recommend it Smile

Handbaghag I love this stuff, my hair is in much better condition now since giving up the permanent dye.
All the instructions are in Italian but I put it on wet washed hair, wrap in clingfilm and leave for an hour and it seems to work. Remember and wear gloves too.
