Moving house - next week (movers packing and moving)

I want to sort as much crap out as I can before it but am I right to think that other than cleaning and coordinating and then unpacking. If we are paying for packers and movers we shouldnt have to do much? My husband will be in work, my family will have my toddler for the day. Can I do it?

You can absolutely do it. Pack a bag each like it will be a week away(clothes, shoes, toiletries, chargers, toys), a box with mug/bowl/plate cutlery set each and essential to find food, and put those plus documents, valuables, and your bedding in the car. Once the packers start they will pack everything in their way and you don't want to get to your new place and not be able to find your phone charger and order a curry with nothing to eat with

Yes have a good clear out and dump/donate anything you don't want. The packers will pack everything - even balled up tissues if you leave them on the counter so you don't have to worry about that. But you don't want to be unpacking boxes of stuff you were planning to get rid of.

Also pack a box/case with clothes and pjs/bedding linen, toiletries in case you get into the new place late and you want to set up beds and get to bed before midnight!

And a box of kitchen essential- tea, kettle, wine etc.

Put these in your car before the movers start packing up the lorry.

Yes you can! Packers are an absolute godsend. Get in some tea/coffee and biscuits to keep you all fuelled.

The tea box is essential. Packers operate on regular and frequent tea and coffee infusions. Biscuits too, usually.
