Fun games for adults?!

I'm looking for ideas for fun games - can be board/card games or activities to plan for a mixed group of adult friends to play. The sort of things that will have us laughing our heads off. Anyone done anything good like this over the Christmas period? Thanks!

We played Cards Against Humanity and Blockbusters (as in the old movie shop) on NYE. Both were a lot of fun and has us laughing for ages.

If you and your friends have a sense of humour where you don't take offence to things easily then I'd definitely say Cards against humanity but I have played once with someone who I didn't really know but who took offence to a 'rape' card and it really ruined the night 😫 so pre warning that the cards do contain some dark humour there!

Articulate is such a good game to play too, you split into teams and it gets really competitive but fun, someone from your team has a pile of cards and must act out the word /action/ place etc on the cards and you try and guess as many as you can in 30 seconds to move forward spaces on the board with counters, first team to get to the end wins!

Cheaper options
Never have I ever - you go around your friends and say never have i ever (for example, never have I ever, kissed a friends family member) and if you have you would put your hand up, or if your boozy like my friends then they would take a drink of there drink or a shot!

Another game which is a MUST for parties with alcohol, it's called Ring of fire and all you need is a glass and a deck of cards!
If you google ring of fire rules it'd be much easier than me explaining but once everyone gets the hang of it, it's a game that'll be played at every party!

Consequences (A met B, A said, B said etc)
Mad Libs (top tip - it's easy to make your own)

Phase 10 - based on rummy and really good fun. We’ve got a few sets of friends hooked on it.

Off to google!

Exploding Kittens and Joking Hazard are fun.

We like Cards Against Humanity but I wouldn't recommend wasting money on the expansion packs as they attempt to micromanage the humour for you but fail miserably.

namechangerblob · 17/01/2020 22:11

I agree about cards against humanity expansions - we bought one at Christmas but it just wasn't funny any more. I think it was funny the first time because of shock value and novelty but it's run out of that for us now. I wondered if Exploding Kittens would just be the same - meant to shock but boring for that reason. Often it's things that aren't setting out to be intentionally hilarious that end up the best!

Theres a few meme games which are quite funny. Bucket of Doom is good......you have useless objects and have to describe how you would save yourself using them from certain death!

Chameleon is another good game.

losingmymindiam · 17/01/2020 22:36

Would you rather... need a good imagination but can be funny. After eight game. Cards against humanity. Spoon game. Chase the ace. Can't actually remember how to play these but have had hilarious drunken nights playing them.

elQuintoConyo · 17/01/2020 22:43

The Mind. A very simple card game, you out cards 1-100 in order, guessing what your gamemates have. Astonishingly simple but my god do much fun!

namechangerblob · 17/01/2020 23:02

I fancy bucket of doom and love a bit of would you rather!

I played a card game called Funemployed with some friends recently over some wine which was really good fun - you all get 4 dubious ‘qualifications’ and then you compete as to who is most ‘qualified’ for a weird job - sort of like cards against humanity the person ‘interviewing’ gives out the card to the funniest answer.

Hazelnutlatteplease · 17/01/2020 23:07

Cash and guns. Absolutely hilarious everytime although the gods honest truth is i have no idea why. No worrying about offending anyone either

PiafPilaf · 17/01/2020 23:12

I second Articulate and Exploding Kittens
